I work with Prof. Dacheng Tao of Nanyang Technological University. My research interests include trustworthy AI agents, explainable AI, and automated scientific research. I study how to make AI agents reliable and their decisions explainable, and how AI systems can carry out research autonomously, from literature analysis and hypothesis generation to experiment design and evaluation. My published work studies the security of machine-learning systems, especially attacks and defenses for machine learning–based network intrusion detection.

Projects

I built AI Scientist, a system that can run research end to end from scratch: building a knowledge base, surveying and reading the literature, proposing ideas, testing hypotheses, running experiments, writing and auditing papers, and even submitting them. The question it seeks to answer is where humans belong in scientific research in a future of fully automated science.
